The Saskatchewan born, but lover of British Columbia, Carly obtained her B.A. at Simon Fraser University, where she majored in Abnormal Developmental Psychology and minored in Middle Eastern History. She also spent her Fridays working at Dreyer and Associates filing and billing. After graduating from post-secondary, she went to work for her mother at Dreyer and Associates as a full-time legal assistant and conveyancer, where she worked for 4 years before pursuing her law post-graduate degree.
From August 2019 until August 2021, Carly attended Bond University in Queensland, Australia and obtained her Juris Doctorate (Doctor of Law) with first-class honours. During her time at Bond University, she not only obtained several first in class, Dean’s List and Vice-Chancellor’s List awards, she also volunteered as a student ambassador, and assisted with the Canadian Law Student Association. After completing her law school education, Carly returned to Canada and Dreyer and Associates Inc. to resume her role as a legal assistant, with a focus on firm development, while she studied for and wrote the National Committee Accreditation exams.
While Carly is newly called to the practice of law, she makes up for the formal “inexperience” with her knowledge of legal procedure and law learned while she worked as a legal assistant for 5 years. Carly also grew up in a household where complex legal issues were discussed with her by her mother, Joan Dreyer.
Carly is driven and passionate, while also collaborative and collegial in her approach to family law. She isn’t afraid to do the work needed to obtain results for her clients. Carly’s dream is to carry on her family legacy and help as many families as she can through the process of navigating their lives through post separation, divorce, real estate matters, estate planning and other legal matters.
Carly was a nationally ranked swimmer growing up. While she does not compete anymore, she can often be found enjoying the water. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family and is always on the hunt to try something new.
